Final Theme
When we are young, we are read tales of princes and princesses who all have their "happily ever after" and always prevail against their foes. This repetitive nature within children's stories presents an unrealistic idea that life is always happy go-lucky and to feel anything other than happy means one is not living life to the fullest. In the original Grimm Brothers Fairytales, the endings were often dark and showed a wider spectrum of human emotion and experience. Within these pieces I am attempting to encapsulate the dark feelings and turbulence of the original stories that most people today know as "kids stories."
